Internship – Scale-up of induced pluripotent stem cell culture at Scinus Cell Expansion

The core activity is the development and marketing of an innovative bioreactor platform technology for the cell culture industry.
About the project
Induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) present an appealing source for cell therapy applications. However, efficient culture of this cell type is still challenging. In this project will work in our team of process engineers to design a new protocol for iPSC culture that can be used with Scinus’s unique bioreactor technology. You will investigate multiple aspects of cell culture; biomaterials, different culture techniques (flask, spinners, bioreactors), use of design-of-experiments, etc. Your main tasks will involve:
- Perform literature research
- Design and conduct experiments
- Analyze experimental results
- Maintain accurate record of laboratory work
- Prepare technical reports or presentation of experimental results
- Take part in technical discussion/meetings with academic and industrial collaborators
- Assist in routine lab maintenance activities
You are a Master’s student in Life Science or a related field with previous experience in (complex) cell culture techniques. You can work with a high degree of autonomy, are flexible and you thrive in a small team of professionals that are dedicated to their technology. You are accurate in the execution of your experiments and you have excellent communication and reporting skills (in English). Previous experience with iPSC culture is a plus, but certainly not mandatory.
The internship will be for a minimum of 6 months (5 days/week). You should be enrolled at a Dutch university. Preferably you are available to start in January or February 2021.
